The Task
Our team was tasked by LeighFisher, the lead technical adviser, to carry out a commercial red-flag review for a potential bid for Arturo Merino Benitez Airport by Atlantia, Grupo Costanera, and CPPIB.
Our Approach
We began by analysing the information memorandum and other data provided by the sell-side, along with best practice benchmarks, to conduct a performance review and competitive analysis of all non-aviation businesses. Our team then identified upside opportunities and downside risks and associated enabling or mitigating strategies.
After conducting a thorough review, we recommended that our client not present a bid for the airport due to existing risks and reduced flexibility to change the new terminal project already underway.
The Result
The result was that our client made an informed decision based on the identified risks and opportunities, which could significantly impact the success of their investment should they proceed. Our comprehensive analysis and recommendations enabled our client to make a strategic decision confidently.
