The Task
A renowned international investment company, which partially owns the airport, sought our specialist assistance to conduct due diligence on its non-aviation activities. We were tasked with identifying areas for improvement that could help enhance the airport’s revenue-generating potential.
Our Approach
To execute this task, we visited the airport premises. During the several days we spent at the airport and with the commercial team, we thoroughly analysed the terminal layout, passenger flows, commercial concept mix, space allocation, and daily operational performance of each unit, including the airport staff’s overall performance. Based on this review, we developed a step-by-step strategy to resolve the major issues with a report containing specific recommendations and suggestions. Finally, we organised a one-day management training to improve the turnover reporting system, financial control, and statistical analysis of the day-to-day, weekly, and monthly operations.
The Result
Our diligent efforts resulted in specific recommendations and the identification of both minor issues that could be dealt with on the spot and significant underlying issues that needed further attention.
Finally, we presented an in-depth report highlighting the various issues the investor needed to review. Our meticulous efforts led to a significant restructuring of the operation, resulting in increased revenue generation and overall operational efficiency.
