The Task

Wilhelm Lauritzen Architects approached us regarding commercial input for their airport T3 terminal expansion design competition proposal.

Our Approach

We worked closely with the architects to specify an airport identity, establish a way to bring local elements of Copenhagen town into the airport, enhance passenger flows—on two floors—improve circulation patterns, create focal points, introduce elements to fit with the key passenger profiles and optimise the use of the limited natural light in the terminal. We also detailed requirements for commercial unit designs, shop allocation, and materials use.

The Result

Our client won the bid, and the T3 terminal expansion is being constructed.

Following the successful bid, we were asked to remain on the team to develop the details of the designs and implement the strategy in collaboration with Copenhagen Airport’s commercial, operational, and designer teams.
