The Task

LeighFisher, the lead technical advisor, subcontracted us to perform a commercial due diligence and revenue forecast model for a potential bid on Aéroports de Lyon by Atlantia, Aeroporti di Roma, and EDF Investment.

Our Approach

Our approach included site visits, information memorandum reviews, benchmarking, and thorough due diligence on the commercial operation of the airports. We put special emphasis on evaluating the distribution of commercial space, passenger flows through the terminal, and shop allocation to identify opportunities for introducing new shops and food and beverage units.

We also assessed the existing contract structure and recommended changes to maximise revenues, including the concession model and rent structure. We then developed a comprehensive revenue forecast that indicated annual sales and revenue per passenger per business line for each airport. We also conducted a sensitivity analysis of different CAPEX and traffic options to provide an accurate projection.

The Result

The client received a comprehensive evaluation of the current situation, potential business developments, a short–, medium–, and long-term strategy outline, and a revenue forecast per year per passenger for the concession period. Our report’s information helped the client make informed decisions to maximise revenue and enhance the passenger experience.
