The Task
As requested by PATRIA, a leader in asset management in Latin America, we were tasked with conducting commercial due diligence, developing terminal layouts, and building a revenue forecast model for the potential bid of the North Cluster in the 6th airport concession round in Brazil. The North Cluster comprised nine airports, including Curitiba, Foz do Iguazu, Navegantes, and Londrina airports.
Our Approach
Our team conducted an extensive site visit, reviewed available data, and conducted an in-depth benchmark to analyse the various aspects of the commercial operation at the airports. We defined optimal areas for the entire concession period and designed new terminal layouts for each expansion phase. We also identified other revenue-enhancing measures to maximise revenue generation, not only in-terminal but also in car parks and car rental areas.
Furthermore, we developed a detailed revenue forecast for each airport, outlining sales and revenue per passenger, per business line, per year while allowing for sensitivity analysis of different capital expenditure (CAPEX) options.
The Result
Our comprehensive evaluation allowed us to present our client with an overview of the current situation, including potential upsides based on short–, medium–, and long-term business development strategy, optimised commercial layouts, and a revenue forecast for all non-aviation businesses. Subsequently, our client was equipped with the necessary information needed to make informed decisions and increase revenue optimally, thereby enhancing the overall passenger experience.
