The Task
In February 2022, ANA Aeroportos de Portugal chose Aer Rianta to establish a new joint venture (JV) for managing duty-free and duty-paid stores at Portuguese airports. Given our expertise and knowledge of ANA and its airports from previous engagements, we were invited to support the Commercial team and guarantee a successful transition despite the very short deadline.
Our Approach
Our team approached the task assertively and provided support in three key areas. Firstly, we meticulously supervised the stock management process, ensuring ample stock levels and seamless transfer from the previous operator. Secondly, we were responsible for transferring all third-party supplier contracts by requesting quotes and negotiating new conditions, ensuring that the new JV would operate with the lowest possible costs and maximum efficiency. Finally, we provided ANA with our expert guidance in defining new SLAs between them and the new JV company, which included defining control processes and requisites for a new IT system.
The Result
Thanks to our collaborative approach with all parties involved, the new JV successfully began operations on June 1st. Our team takes pride in its ability to deliver results under challenging timelines and is unwavering in its commitment to providing best-practice support to our clients.
